The people

 

Italy has the fifth-highest population density in Europe--about 200 persons per square kilometer. Immigration has increased in recent years, however, while the Italian population is declining overall due to low birth rates. Although Roman Catholicism is the majority religion--85% of native-born citizens are nominally Catholic--all religious faiths are provided equal freedom before the law by the constitution.

          Landscape                 Italy has a mainly mountainous orography, excepting the plain of the Po, and it extends from the Alps to the center of the Mediterranean. It includes / understands the islands of Sicily, Sardinia, Elbe and other 70 of smaller size. There are several activates volcanoes in Italy: Etna, the largest activates volcano in Europe; Vulcano; Stromboli; and Vesuvius, the only activates volcano on the mainland of Europe.

 

 

Wildlife

On the island of Gigli in Tuscany there are wild goats called mufloni. This kind of goat is very endangered. There are also rare frogs called Discoglossus Sardo.

Abruzzo, another region of Italy , has several national parks. In Majella-Morrone National Park there are wolves, the Marsican brown bear, chamois , red deer, roe deer, and 130 different kinds of birds including the rare Peregrine falcon, Golden eagle, goshawk, eagle-owl and a dotterel that nests only in this mountain in Italy.

                                   Visitors say that Italy is so expensive because it has a lot of places to visit. They love Italian, because the Italian kitchen is one of the most refined and varied of Europe, from flavorful prescriptions of Naples and Calabria to prepared with pesto sauce of Liguria , happening through plates of cheese and the rice (risotti) of the alpine regions.
